Paternity Challenge Award
Taylor Regional Hospital in Top Ten for the 2005 Paternity Challenge 

(CAMPBELLSVILLE, KENTUCKY) –The Kentucky Voluntary Paternity Acknowledgement Program recently announced that Taylor Regional Hospital was a top ten winner for the 2005 Paternity Challenge. 

Ashley Rodgers and Jo Ann Smith, RHIT from Health Care Information Services, Margaret McVay, RN and the entire OB Nursing Staff went above and beyond in educating parents about paternity establishment and assisting parents in completing the legal affidavit.  The Taylor Regional Hospital PEP (Percentage of Estimated Paternity Establishment) increased 43% over 2005. 

The Paternity Challenge was conducted throughout 2005 for birthing hospitals in Kentucky. Increase in the number of unmarried parents establishing paternity as well as overall program implementation was taken into consideration in this challenge.

The Kentucky Paternity Program is a program through the Cabinet for Families and Children in Cooperation with the Office of Vital Statistics. The program provides training and support for the state-mandated voluntary paternity program in every birthing hospital and county health department in Kentucky.

The 90-bed Taylor Regional Hospital opened in 1973 with a mission to provide high-quality health care and services to enhance the total health needs of its community.  In 1995, Taylor County Hospital and Jewish Hospital HealthCare Services entered into a management partnership to support Taylor Regional Hospital in its continuing mission to serve the local region.
